Monique Pean Non-Traditional Engagement Ring

Gloss.com asked "Would you wear a non-traditional engagement ring?" and included this picture of a totally fab ring designed by Monique Pean and available at Barney's for $6,750.

The consensus from those we have spoken to about it and those that commented on the article was an overwhelming YES!

It wasn't necessarily because they liked this particular Pink Tourmaline Ring by designer Monique Pean (although we think it's pretty darn interesting).

They realized that if this could be considered an engagement ring then they had the freedom to choose something that they loved because of color, shape or anything else—and totally think outside the box.

At the end of the day it's really all about what the ring represents and not what it is. An engagement ring doesn't have to have a diamond center stone or any diamonds at all.

We've been saying it all along, gemstone engagement rings are a great way to go for so many reasons!

I consider myself "green" and very environmentally conscious. I love that she designs jewelry with sustainable materials, recycled metals, etc.

I wished for a piece of her jewelry and recently got one for my birthday. I absolutely love it!

There is no doubt in my mind that my engagement ring (if he ever proposes :-)) will be one of her designs. It's really important that we all make an effort to preserve the planet and leave a great place for our children.

My e-ring is totally non-traditional. Aquamarine and recycled white gold with white topaz. We could afford diamonds and platinum but this ring means so much more to me because March was the month we first met.

If I were to "go around again" with the engagement ring process I'd definitely choose something like Monique Peans non-traditional engagement ring.

One doubts that the opportunity will present itself again however one never knows does one!

Perhaps I could choose it anyway for my right hand.
