Mangagement Rings - Hot or Not?

Hold on to your hats ladies and gents, mangagement rings are here AND....we think they might be here to stay!

For those that aren't in the know (which included us until very recently) mangagement rings are for the modern gal who wants to propose to her beau and sees no reason why she shouldn't take the lead. And, since a diamond engagement doesn't quite work with hairy knuckles, mangagement rings were born.

Some jewelers actually have a line of mangagement rings when in reality they are mostly wedding bands given at the engagement.

Not sure if we can call this etiquette or tradition yet but the procedure (for lack of a better term) is that it be offered as part of the proposal and worn on the ring finger of the left hand until the marriage.

It then gets transferred over to the ring finger of the right hand once the deed is done. Check it out by clicking on it.

Turns out that in some cultures (like for the Lebanese) both the bride and groom receive engagement rings so this isn't new, just new for us.

A Ring is A Good Thing

I'm surprised at most girls reactions to a guy wearing an engagement ring. We aren't talking diamonds and girly rings.

Don't they want all the other girls to know their guy's engaged? My fiance makes sure all the girls we come meet when we're out ANYWHERE know that I proposed to HER and that I'm engaged!
