Celebrity Engagement Rings: What a Rock!

Not all of these celebrity engagement rings have a happy ending but is sure is nice to see how those with fame and fortune do it. Actually, when you really think about it, most of them in fact don't have a happy ending but what they do have is style.

It's always interesting to see what's out there in terms of engagement rings and one of the best ways to do that is to see what those who can afford the moon are buying. When we see someone we admire wearing something we can't help but be influenced buy it.

In terms of celebrities, it started with Elizabeth Taylor and the list goes on from there. We can definitely trace style and trends based on celebrity spottings. For example, the latest craze in rose gold engagement rings likely started because Katie Holmes' received her engagement ring from Tom Cruise and it had a delicate rose gold detail that became all the rage. Now on to the bling!

Jennifer Lopez celebrity Engagement ring Pink

J. Lo and Ben Affleck
Unfortunately these two are no longer together so the 6.1 carat pink emerald shape diamond has been "reacquired" by Harry Winston and is back on the market for an undisclosed sum and only available to "serious bidders." How big a market can there be for tainted celebrity engagement rings? Affleck bought the ring to show his undying love for J. Lo back in 2002 for a hefty $1.2 million. Sales of pink diamond engagement rings soared as a result.

jessica simpson engagement ring

Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey
Big sis Simpson's engagement ring was a 4 carat pear shape set in platinum with two side stones. We all know what happened there. The good news is that she's moving and has become quite the fashion designer and has a strong retail brand.

pink and carey hart engagement ring

Pink and Carey Hart
On Again - Off Again - And, yes ON again. Hart got his rocker lady love a 5 carat diamond because according to him "she has big hands". A slight insult mixed with a huge rock, how bittersweet. Maybe that's why their relationship is so 'rocky'! The good news is that they seem to have worked things out (at least for now) and they even have a little rocker baby names Willow.

Celebrity engagement rings show us what is possible. For some celebrities it means more bling, while others are looking for something exotic and rare, and others still, just want a classic solitaire that can be passed on for generations to come.
