A casino atmosphere makes a great theme for an engagement party. (Think James Bond in Casino Royale). It
can be elegant and quite formal or have a country-fair feel, and is ideal for larger parties since the casino games require that guests mingle and group themselves around individual games.
If done properly, it's more like throwing an engagement party in a casino
rather than being a party theme. Supplies are easy enough to come by, you can
often rent a lot of what is needed, or even make it yourself—you just need a lot
of green felt!
You can set up a Texas Hold'm Poker Table, a Black Jack Table, A "Wheel of
Fortune Money Wheel" and even buy (on Ebay) or rent a slot machine. Don't forget
to provide your guests with lots of "Funny Money".
Casino Party Color scheme
There really is no set color scheme for a casino party but keep in mind that the basic
colors you should use in your props and other decorations are derived
from the suits on playing cards and the green felt most commonly found on game
tables. So red, black and green should be your starting point.
You can stick to the basics, drop the green, or add silver and/or gold accents which not only
work well but can add an elegant touch to your casino theme.
