A Hole In One

by Jessica

My (now) husband takes the cake. He plays a lot of golf, and sometimes I go out at night and hit balls with him on the course by our house.

One night he was going, he didn't even ask me to go, but I joined him. We were on the 10th hole, and he handed me a putter and pointed to the hole.

He told me he'd give me ten thousand dollars if I sank the putt, about 15 feet away. I have never concentrated so hard in my life! I watched my ball go down the green, and go into the hole!! But it popped right out - crazy.

He put another ball closer to the hole, and told me he'd give me $5,000 if I got it in. I couldn't believe it when the ball went in the hole. Now, I am not a good golfer, but again, it popped out.

We both were laughing. He then placed the ball right on the edge of the cup, and told me he loved me so he would give me a consolation prize if I got it in. I tapped it, and it went in but popped out right away!

I leaned down to inspect the hole, and felt something in there - I took it out, it was a ring box. When I looked up, he was down on one knee, with a huge grin. He took the box and opened it and proposed. How could I say no - I won it!

The club let us have our wedding on that very hole, with our 80 guests standing around us. For our 1st anniversary, he presented me that same ball, in a box frame, with a picture of us taking our vows on the course.

Top that!

Surprise Surprise!

I did something similar to my wife(now). I put the ring in the hole. She was tending the pin and when she went to put the pin back in the hole she saw a surprise.

I then got down on one knee and popped the question. She said yes and then I read proverbs 31 to her. A chapter from the Bible that depicts what a godly wife is all about. She is an awesome woman of God and we have been married now for 10 years!

Thanks for letting me share. I stumbled across this story. -Tim

The Engagement Ring
by: Roger

Hey Tim,
By putting the engagement ring box in the hole there was no room for the ball so it kept on popping out.

I like the idea that the engagement ring itself caused the thing to work... I may try this one out.

How did he get the ball to pop out again and again?

Good Job

I've been trying to come up with an idea for me and my lady. She's a widow and I'm divorced and we met at the golf club a couple of years ago. This may work for us.
