The TomKat proposal is one for the books. In June 2005, Tom Cruise took Katie Holmes (or Kate as he calls her) to Le Jules Verne restaurant in Paris where they shared a romantic candlelit dinner for two.
He then took her to the Eiffel Tower around midnight- Cruise claims he had never been to the French landmark before.
And then just mere hours later, Tom and the future Mrs. Cruise were at a press conference where Tom said: "Today is a magnificent day for me. I'm engaged to a magnificent woman!" Nothing says I love you like a press junket!

Mariah Carey gets a double proposal from the dashing Nick Cannon. While they were relaxing at her Manhattan apartment, he popped the question with a 17 carat diamond hidden inside a candy ring pop. How sweet, right?
Well, rumor has it that the young Cannon used the same ring to propose to model Selita Ebanks. The ring which Nick designed himself is estimated to cost $2.5 million dollars and has rare pink and purple diamonds.
Perhaps he was feeling guilty so a few days later, he whisked her away on a helicopter ride and proposed for a second time.

Seal proposed to gorgeous model and host of (the amazing) Project Runway Heidi Klum on Dec. 23 2004.
Just two days before Christmas, at 14,000 feet in Whistler, B.C., in unchartered terrain on a glacier, in a natural snow cave, in an igloo built just for the moment.
Now that's what we call cool celebrity news and an incredibly romantic proposal.

Holding up a sign that read "Will you Marry Me?", Pink proposed to Carey Hart as he was racing on June 26, 2005 at a Mammoth Lakes, California Pro 250 racing finals competition. Hart drove off the track during the race to say yes and actually forfeited the game! The couple also decided to get matching "Tru Luv" tattoos on their wrists.
Celebrity News Update: They split up but are back together again with baby Willow. (At least we think that's what's going on this month.)

David Arquette proposed to Friends star Courtney Cox on a beach in Florida and arranged to have a fireworks display go off exactly when he planned to pop the question. Nice touch David!
Since they both have a good sense of humor they didn't go for the conventional mushy most people engrave on their wedding bands. Instead, this cool couple went with: A Deal's a Deal.
Just goes to show that your love and nuptials can be unique and reflect who you are without spending big bucks. It's all in the details.

Christina Aguilera was showered by gifts from music exec Jordan Bratman.
In celebrity news reports, they say he filled the room with flowers, balloons and a stack of gift boxes. Each gift box contained a poem written by the love struck Bratman and the last box contained Christina's engagement ring.
Way to go Jordan! Girls just melt for flowers (even the ones that say they don't). We promise love & romance with a proposal like this.

Rebecca Romijn first met Jerry O'Connell in Vancouver on a film set.
Jerry ditched his first proposal idea of popping the question in a sports stadium - he was worried that he may be rejected in front of thousands of people.
So he forewent the very public proposal for a much more low key personal one instead. He took the sexy X-Man star to the New York city apartment he grew up in. Much better this way!

Not exactly celebrity news but thought this was worth listing.
Jenna Bush's boyfriend Henry Hager is extremely outdoorsy and quite romantic. He woke her up at 4:00 am and took her on a hike up Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park in Maine.
They hiked for about 90 minutes in the dark. When they finally reached the top, the sun was coming up and he proposed.
Apparently, he chose this location because it's supposedly where the sun first hits the United States. Nice touch when proposing to the daughter of a President.

More celebrity news from Reality Show veteran Rob Mariano who proposed during the live season finale of Survivor All-Stars to his competitor Amber Brkich.
Just before announcing the winner, Rob popped the question by getting down on one knee in front of a shocked Amber—who was wearing a shirt that said I heart Rob. She said YES! And then moments later they announced that she had just won the million dollars. Not a bad start!
